Terms of Service

Version in force as of August 12, 2026.

These Terms of Service govern access to the website freudacademy.com, to the learning environment and to the courses offered under the Freud Academy brand. Please read this document before creating an account or making a purchase.

1. Identification and contact

Freud Academy is an educational platform dedicated to teaching psychoanalysis, academically linked to the American Society of Freudian Psychoanalysis, an organization based in the United States and responsible for issuing the certificates indicated in each offer. For support, contractual requests and questions about these Terms, contact [email protected] or WhatsApp +55 11 5198-6497.

2. Acceptance of the Terms

By using the website, creating an account, enrolling or accessing a course, you declare that you have read and agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Cancellation and Refund Policy. If you are contracting on behalf of another person or organization, you declare that you are authorized to represent them.

3. Educational nature of the courses

Freud Academy programs are open courses for study and development. They do not correspond to a degree, technical program, postgraduate qualification or diploma recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC), and they do not by themselves grant registration with a professional council, a professional license or state authorization to practice a regulated profession.

The student is responsible for checking the rules applicable to their profession and jurisdiction. The content is educational and does not replace medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal or any other individualized professional service.

4. Eligibility, registration and account security

  • Registration must contain truthful, complete and up-to-date information.
  • Enrollment by anyone under 18 requires the participation and authorization of their legal guardian.
  • The account is personal and non-transferable. Do not share passwords, private links or access to the student environment.
  • Report any unauthorized use of the account immediately.

5. Enrollment, prices and payments

The conditions displayed at checkout at the time of purchase (course, currency, total price, number and frequency of charges and payment methods) form part of the contract. International offers displayed in US dollars are charged as one-time payments: the Psychoanalysis Training at US$100, and the Psychoanalysis in Child Care and Psychoanalytic Criminology courses at US$40 each. Promotional conditions shown at checkout prevail while they are active.

Payments are processed by independent providers such as Stripe and Hotmart. Freud Academy does not store full card details. The chosen provider may apply its own anti-fraud measures, authentication, currency conversion and operational terms. International transactions may appear as cross-border purchases.

In the event of late, declined or reversed payment, access may be temporarily suspended while the situation is resolved, in accordance with applicable law.

6. Content access and platform operation

Access is granted after payment confirmation and may depend on receiving information from the payment gateway. Schedules, activities, meetings, supervision and specific requirements follow the description of each course. Content may receive pedagogical corrections and updates that preserve the main purpose of the offer.

Brief interruptions may occur for maintenance, security or events beyond reasonable control. When possible, Freud Academy will take measures to restore the service and reduce impacts.

7. Assessment and certificate

Certificate issuance depends on meeting the academic requirements published for the course, on financial regularity and on confirmation of the student’s details. The certificate is an open-course certificate and does not represent a MEC diploma, a regulated professional title or a guarantee of employment, income, approval in a selection process or acceptance by a professional association.

8. Student conduct

It is forbidden to use the platform to commit fraud, harassment, discrimination, threats, breach of confidentiality, copyright infringement, credential sharing, reverse engineering, unauthorized automated extraction or any unlawful act. Case reports and discussions must fully preserve the identity and privacy of third parties.

Serious violations may result in a warning, suspension or termination of access, without prejudice to applicable legal measures and consumer rights.

9. Intellectual property

Texts, lessons, videos, trademarks, images, workbooks, exercises and materials are protected by intellectual property law. Enrollment grants a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable license for individual study. Copying, selling, publishing, transmitting, translating, making available or commercially exploiting the material without written authorization is not allowed.

10. Cancellation, withdrawal and refund

Consumers who purchase online have the rights provided by applicable law, including the right of withdrawal under Article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code where applicable. Deadlines, procedure, effects on access and rules after the legal period are described in the Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Privacy and communications

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. Essential communications about purchase, access, security, billing and academic progress may be sent by email, WhatsApp or through the student environment. Promotional communications can be declined at any time.

12. Third-party services and links

The website may integrate payment, hosting, video, communication and analytics services provided by third parties. Each third party is responsible for its own infrastructure and for the data processing it carries out as an independent controller. External links do not mean unrestricted endorsement of their content.

13. Liability

Freud Academy is responsible for providing the service within the limits of the offer, the contract and applicable law. No clause of these Terms excludes or reduces non-waivable consumer rights. There is no guarantee of professional, clinical, financial or academic results arising from the course, as such results depend on individual and external factors.

14. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect legal, operational or pedagogical changes. The version in force and its date will be published on this page. Material changes affecting ongoing relationships will be communicated through reasonable means and will not reduce rights already acquired.

15. Governing law and dispute resolution

The mandatory rules of the consumer’s jurisdiction apply, including the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code where applicable. The parties will first seek a solution through [email protected]. Access to consumer protection bodies and to the courts remains preserved, as does the legally competent venue of the consumer’s domicile.
